The primary goal of this clinic is to treat you, and not just your disorder. Often a patient comes to me with a specific complaint such as shoulder pain, and after treatment, the person finds that other aspects of their health have improved as well.
I’ve found that if a person is properly treated, not only does their pain disappear, but sleep deepens, digestion improves, pounds are shed, the skin becomes clearer and smooth-textured, bowels and blood pressure are regulated, and an overall vitality returns. After treatment, my patients often find they can breathe more deeply and are better able to handle life’s daily stresses.
Both sides of the body are treated. Many practitioners simply insert needles, leave the patient with needles in place for 20 minutes or less and then remove them, concluding the treatment. In my hour-long sessions, I will address and alleviate neck and shoulder stiffness, lower back pain, and muscular congestion in the arms and legs.
Painless needles: I use very thin, disposable needles of the highest quality. My gentle needle techniques will enable you to drift away (many patients fall asleep during treatment) … I don’t do dry needling, an often painful experience where often utilized by less skillful practitioners.
What to expect from your acupuncture session:
- There is no pain experienced with my needling technique – your comfort is assured. I use the highest quality and finest needles available.
- Patients become very relaxed, often falling asleep. Because acupuncture has a positive effect on both serotonin and dopamine levels, you may feel a deep sense of peace and joy following a treatment. This effect may last hours or into the next 24–48 hours.
- Please do not exercise or go back to work after your treatment. Because of the depth and thoroughness in my approach, allowing yourself to unwind after being treated will maximize your benefits of our session. Please remember it can take up to 24 hours for your body to assimilate your treatment fully.
- It has become ingrained in our culture that by taking medicine or a pill, we will gain immediate relief and be free of suffering. Becoming healthy and pain free, often takes time – it is a cumulative process. Patience will serve you well.
